Mangaluru, Aug 8: The Parent Teacher Association general body meeting of Carmel school was held on August 5.
A good number of parents responded to the call. Dr Preethi Keerthi DSouza, associate professor, Department of commerce, Mangalore University was the chief guest of the event along with other esteemed dignitaries Sr Sunitha Monteiro A C, the joint secretary, Sr Maria Gracilda A C the principal, Sr Elena the administrator, Sr Preena A C the vice- principal, Sr Rosy the coordinator, Jossy Menezes the PTA vice- president.
They were escorted to the venue by the school band. The guests were also welcomed by our students dressed in traditional attire. The meeting began by invoking god’s blessings through a prayer song. Students of grade VI and VII welcomed the guests through a dazzling welcome dance. Sr Preena AC accorded each and everyone present through her gracious welcome. Magnetic charmers of grade IV blossomed the audience with their action songs.Their performance was truly mesmorising. Role of parent and teachers in the life of a student was beautifully showcased by the students of grade IX through a networking dance. Later on Macklin Miranda our Alumnae was felicitated for succeeding in NTSE competitive exam.
Dr Preethi Keerthi D'Souza addressed the parents and touched upon the topic of positive parenting with their children. She spotlighted the factors affecting Parent – child relationship mainly Negative impact of technology on children in the present scenario.She also briefed on Modern ways of Parenting and new insights to make their life effective. Queries of parents were also simultaneously answered by her.
Further Sr Gracilda in her address briefed the gathering on A C stamp of education and expectations from the students. Various queries were also cleared by giving valuable suggestions and information by the principal.
The meeting was brought to a closure by serving the refreshments and singing the school anthem. The programme was well compeered by Clara Dcosta and Vote of thanks was proposed by Yashodha.
