Udupi: Mount Rosary English medium school celebrates Environment Day

Udupi, Aug 8: Mount Rosary English medium school Santhekatte celebrated Environment Day recently. Fr Oliver Nazreth was the chief guest for the programme.

In his message to the students Fr Oliver Nazreth said, “Environment is the greatest gift of almighty to mankind. Indian culture has great values of protecting and preserving the environment. There is a  inextricable relationship with our festivals and nature. Today, the environment is degrading not due to the wild animals, but because of the educated humans. We need to start loving nature before it takes its own course."

Students Suraksha and Adithi Aithal spoke on the importance of celebrating Environment Day. Students performed various environment related songs, mime acts, dance and skits.

Fr Rock D'Souza, correspondent presiding over the program said, “Earth is the only planet having living creatures. It is our responsibility to protect this earth from pollution."

Sr Ancilla D'Mello, headmistress Raghavendra, president PTA association were present on the dais. Ananya Kamath welcomed the gathering, Renisha D'Souza compered, Advith proposed a vote of thanks.
