Brahmavar: 10th edition of ‘GM quiz fest’ held

Brahmavar, Aug 4: The 10th edition of GM Vidyaniketan Public School's ‘GM quiz fest’ was organized. The event saw students and teachers from various schools come together to showcase their wit, intelligence, and quick thinking.

The event commenced with a spirited opening ceremony. The chief guest for the inaugural was Cdr Dr Anil Rana, director MIT Manipal. Giri Pickbrain and Rashmi Furtado from Greycaps, Bengaluru were quiz masters.

With the competition underway, the participants both students and teachers faced a diverse range of thought-provoking questions, spanning various subjects and current affairs. The quizmasters, renowned educators from the community, skilfully moderated the contest, ensuring a fair and engaging experience for all involved.

With 39 schools, 156 participants participated in the preliminary round and the top 6 schools selected for the finals for both teachers and students.

Under students category Vidyodaya Public School Udupi bagged first place, and Manipal School Attavar, Mangalore has bagged runner up.

Under Teachers category Sharada Vidyalaya Kodialbail, Mangaluru bagged first place, and Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara School, Bolar, Mangaluru has bagged runner up.

The top-performing teams were awarded medals, certificates of achievement to all participating schools, and valuable prizes.

In the valedictory ceremony, the Chief Guest Ganapathi K, DDPI, Udupi district, congratulated all the participants. The chairman, Prakashchandra Shetty appreciated all the delegates for their participation and school principal George Kurian congratulated the winners and the participants. He reiterated the school's commitment to promoting a culture of academic excellence and fostering holistic development among its students.
