Kundapur: Yoga for health session conducted at MITK

Kundapur, Aug 3: A yoga session was organised by the department of basic sciences and humanities of MITK Moodlakatte, for the first year BE students recently.

Gopalakrishna Dixith and Priyanka Dixith of Bhramhavar, were the resource persons. Around 200 students participated in the session and have learnt to practice Yogasanas like Sooryanamaskara, Vajrasana, Tadasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana. the session also included guided Meditation and Pranayama.

In the beginning, Gopalakrishna explained the importance and power of Yoga and told the sure benefits to the practicing students. Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, director Brand Building, and dean student welfare (MITK) told that practicing yoga regularly, increases efficiency in all endeavors. He appreciated the initiative taken by the department making the session as a part scientific foundation of health course.

HOD of BSH department, Prof Deepak Shetty was present on the occasion. Dr Nikhila Pai coordinated the event. Sneha Gouda proposed the vote of thanks.
