Puttur, Aug 2: Postgraduate department of physics, St Philomena College, Puttur organized a day-long skill development programme on ‘The Art of Electronics: Devices and Circuits’ on July 31. The vice principal of the college, Dr A P Radhakrishna inaugurated the programme held at the PG seminar hall.
He urged students to prepare exclusively for the various competitive examinations along with their routine study for the university examinations. He enlightened the students on opportunities available for research and jobs at various national and international institutes in his inaugural remarks.
Dr Praveen Prakash D’Souza, assistant professor, department of physics, St Joseph’s University Bengaluru, participated as a resource person for the programme. In his first session, he trained students on ‘Design and Analysis of Electronic Circuits’ and students participated in the hands-on training during the session. He also engaged in a session on ‘Electronics for competitive examinations’, where he trained students in preparing for various competitive exams like NET, KSET, GATE, forensic science, and the main paper of civil service examinations.
Faculty members and students of the post-graduate department of physics took part in the programme.
