Udupi: Manipal School of Architecture and Planning holds orientation programme

Udupi, Jul 29: Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP), MAHE, Manipal welcomed the new batch during an orientation programme held on Friday July 28 .

Dr Vinod V Thomas, registrar evaluation of MAHE, graced the event as the chief guest, Roop Rashi, textile commissioner, ministry of textiles, government of India, as the guest of honour, (virtually connected) the event was a resounding success as it warmly welcomed newly enrolled students from diverse academic backgrounds. The event aimed to acquaint students with the institution's culture, values, and academic offerings, setting a solid foundation for their educational journey. Notably accomplished MSAP alumnus, Venkatesh Pai shared his experiences, serving as a guiding light and a source of motivation for the new students.

Dr Nandineni Rama Devi, the director of MSAP, delivered a heartfelt address, introducing the students to the vibrant institution's community and providing vital information about the academic curriculum, extracurricular activities, and support services available. The programme also emphasised the integration of sustainability in the curriculum, inspiring purpose-driven educational paths.

The student council played a crucial role in acquainting the newcomers with various student engagement opportunities, organisations, and clubs available at MSAP, encouraging them to connect within the campus community.

Dr Geetha Maiya, director of student affairs, and Col Vinod Bhasker, chief warden of MIT Hostels, assured the students of the strong support system and comfortable hostel facilities, ensuring their experience at MSAP feels like a 'home away from home'.

The orientation programme received praise from Dr Pradeep Kini, the joint director of MSAP, who expressed confidence in its ability to facilitate the academic and personal growth of the students. Dr Veena Rao, the HoD of the department of design, acknowledged the faculty's support and the students' coordination, which contributed to the seamless functioning of the event.

With more than 900 attendees, including faculty, officials, and student volunteers, the event set a positive and exciting tone for the incoming students as well as the audience present at the event.
