Mangalore, Aug 1: The residents of Kavoor and Kuloor staged a protest at the Kavoor circle demanding CBI investigation into the twin murder of 35-year-old woman Raziya and her eight-year-old daughter Fathima Zuha, a Class III student at Victoria English Medium School in Lady Hill which took place, recently.
Though it’s been a month after the horrid incident occurred, the local police have not been able to trace the culprits and put them behind the bar which has irked the local residents and well-wishers of the family. This is the reason they have come out to street in demand of CBI Inquiry into the case and speedy arrest of the murderers, said DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla.
The police have so far only managed to question the innocent people and make them look like a offender in front of surrounding people but have not made honest efforts to find out the real criminals, the protestors alleged. The twin murder took place in broad day light which also has made the people of the area to live with fear and doubt the police services, they expressed.
Clever D’Souza said that the incident had a negative effect on the locals who even fear to get out of their homes and go to work. At any cost such an incident should not repeat in future for which the culprits of twin murder needs to be arrested at the earliest, he added.
Earlier, the protestors carried out a procession from Panjimogeru to Kavoor Circle. DYFI district secretary Dayanand, Rukmini Kavoor, Sajida, Ahmed Basheer, Prasanna. Mohammad Ali among others took part in the protest.
