Mangaluru, Jul 23: To acknowledge the gifts of mother nature,St Agnes Preparatory school, Bendore, organised Vana Mahotsav as green day on Wednesday, July 19 at school premises. To mark this special occasion the tiny tots and the teaching fraternity were dressed up in green attire to add pomp and joy to the day’s celebration.
The programme commenced with the prayer song. The little ones gave thanks to the creator of the universe for the gift of nature. The dignitaries and the students of St Agnes Kannada Primary School were presented with flower brooches and receiveda grandeur welcome. The Chief guest and the other dignitaries inaugurated the programme by planting a sapling. The programme was a heady combination of dance, action songsand a skit on the importance of saving Mother Nature.
The chief guest Sr Linet Maria AC, Principal, St Agnes Teacher Training Institute for Special Education, commended the children and teachers for presenting a meaningful programme. She urged the students to show innate affection and care towards flora and fauna and encouraged them to keep the surrounding clean and green.
To help children inculcate moral values, the young ones shared a green- coloured edible items with the needy.This gestureenhanced joy and pride among children. The students of St Agnes Kannada Primary School actively engaged themselves in the games conducted by Teacher Gulobia. The beautifully decorated venue added allure to the stupendous celebration.
The principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, the coordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School Sr Letitia AC, the administrator Sr Edna Furtado AC, the students of St Agnes Kannada Primary School, parents, the faculty and tiny tots were present for the programme.
Shalet compered the programme. Mary welcomed the gathering and Josna expressed her gratitude for making the programme a grand success. The programme concluded with the rendition of the school anthem.
