Mangaluru: Session on 'Resume Writing' held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Jul 23: The Department of Computer Applications (MCA), St Agnes College (Autonomous) successfully organized an interactive session on "Resume Writing" on Friday, July 21.

The session was conducted by Dr Suraj Francis Noronha, the dean o fthe Department of Management and Entrepreneurship (MBA). During the session, the resource person elaborated on the significance of a well-crafted resume and guided the students on selecting the appropriate format, crafting a compelling objective, and effectively presenting their skills, achievements, and project details.

The informative session covered two different resume formats tailored to specific job profiles, and also provided insights on writing a cover letter or email to complement the resume. Moreover, the resource person shared valuable tips on interview preparation and how to explore job opportunities online, empowering the students with a comprehensive understanding ofthe job application process.

Fifty-two enthusiastic students from the 2nd semester actively participated in the session, eagerly absorbing knowledge on resume preparation and interview readiness.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome speech by Sushan Roy Pinto, the student coordinator of IT Forum, followed by an introduction of the speaker by Likith S. Annora Adline Menezes proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude on behalf of all the attendees.

The event was skillfully coordinated by Akshatha Shetty, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Applications (MCA), under whose leadership the session was organized. The presence and support of Panchajanyewari, the head of the department, and Baji Raina Banu, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Applications (MCA),further enriched the event.
