Mangalore, Jul 30: Akhila Bharata Beary Parishat (ABBP) held a symposium named ‘Zakath mattu Ramazan’ at Kandaya Bhavan in the city on Friday July 29.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and president of Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) Karnataka M B Puranik said that there is misconception that VHP is an anti Muslim organization in the society which creates a huge gap between two communities. Respect for each other’s religion will help in eliminating the hatred and misunderstandings now prevailing in the society, he added.
He also noted that in a country like ours it is impossible for a community to live without relying on each other.
Seikh Mohammed Irfani Faizi in his address on Zakath and Ramazan said that Zakath (charity) the third pillar of Islam is poor people’s right and it should not be considered as richman’s generosity.
Fasting in the month of Ramazan helps to understand the hardship of poor and hungry. It also gives one control over his senses and guides him towards Allah, said Faizi.
Akhila Bharata Beary Parishat president Abdul Mazeed Suralpady presided over.
B Abbas Hasan Haji, Vardhman Durgaprasad Shetty and Rajya Beary Sahitya Academy M B Abdur Rahiman were other guests at the occasion.
