Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE school celebrates Vanmahotsav

Mangaluru, Jul 19: Every life in this nature is a blessing let us cherish it with love and care Vana Mahotsav, the forest festival aims at motivating people to conserve nature and plant trees. To highlight the significance of this day St Agnes School (CBSE) organized a short programme on Tuesday, July 18 at school premises.

The programme commenced with the prayer service. The little ones gave thanks to the creator of the universe for the gift of nature. The guest and the audience were given a grandeur welcome. The significance of the day was depicted through a spectacular dance performance. The chief guest and the Principal planted a sapling in honour of Van Mahotsav.

 

 

 

 

 

The chief guest Neesha Rego, the senior faculty of St Agnes CBSE school commended the students for an enthralling performance and highlighting the message on the importance of the day. She emphasised on the need to love nature and strive to protect it. She urged the students to build their own garden at home and care for the plants regularly. The principal Sr Sarika AC encouraged the children to grow houseplants and stressed on the importance of protecting the environment by keeping it green and clean.

To bring awareness among the students , class-wise competitions such as drawing , Collage, badge making, elocution on the topic ‘My Earth my support’ ,Notice board display on the theme ‘Our Earth Our Future’ were conducted.

During this event the Wiz National Spell Bee winners were honoured. The principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, the vice principal Sr Lenita Lobo AC, the Co-ordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School Sr Letitia AC, the faculty members and students were present for the programme.

Joella Adlyn D’Cruz and Stuthi KP compered the programme. Satvi S.K welcomed the gathering and Reemal Clare Mendonca expressed her gratitude. The programme concluded with the rendition of school anthem.
