Mangaluru: Ladyhill English Higher Primary school celebrates Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 18: The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the founding day of the Apostolic Carmel Sisters in Bayonne were both commemorated with great fervour.

Fr Melvin D'Cunha, superior of St Joseph's Monastery, Bikarnakatte, performed a solemn mass in the Ladyhill Annunciation Convent Chapel for the staff and catholic students.

Through prayer services, skits, music, and dancing, the celebration put on by the class 2 and class 6 students highlighted the Carmelite order's rich history and relevance while accentuating the virtues and traits that may be inherited from our Lady.

The music and dance performances reflected the atmosphere of adoration and celebration while bringing life and happiness to the occasion.

Sr Jennifer Moras AC, headmistress, addressed the teachers and students, emphasising the necessity of instilling the characteristics of service, love, and compassion towards one another. She underlined the need of unselfish devotion to society, compassion, and empathy, qualities espoused by Mother Veronica, the Apostolic Carmel Sisters' founder.

As a result of the celebration, children were encouraged to embrace the values of service, love, and compassion, building an environment of understanding and goodwill throughout the school community.
