Mangaluru, Jul 18: Expert PU College Valachil Campus celebrated Vanamahotsav-2023 in connection with the afforestation drive to save our environment for the posterity. Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, commissioner of police, Mangaluru was the chief guest on the occasion and he inaugurated the programme by planting sapling on the campus.

Speaking on the occasion Kuldeep Kumar R Jain said that it is the need of the hour to create awareness among the people about the emergency situations such as global warming, habitat loss and pollution and save this planet from the impending catastrophes.

The students of the campus participated in the programme by planting the saplings on the campus. Jain lauded the efforts of the college for creating a healthy and green campus.

Earlier, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak extended a cordial welcome to the chief guest by offering him a bouquet. Prof Narendra L Nayak handed over a memento the chief guest.

Ankush N. Nayak, director- Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions; Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (administration) Gurudath N, coaching head, Mouna programme director were present on the occasion.
