Mangaluru: Ladyhill Victoria High School celebrates feast of lady of Mount Carmel

Mangaluru, Jul 17: The feast of our lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated at Ladyhill Victoria High School on Monday, July 17, with utmost devotion and reverence. The students of class 10th C hosted a programme in honour of Mother Mary.

The programme began by seeking the blessings of the almighty through a prayer service. Chief guest Sr Chetana A C, headmistress of Ladyhill Kannada Primary, Sr Ujvala A C, principal of Ladyhill Victoria Composite P U College and the audience were welcomed by Maithili which was followed by the significance of the day.

A skit was enacted to show how Mother Mary helped an ailing family by interceding through her son Jesus and also the significance of the scapular given by her to Simon Stock, a Carmel priest.

The chief guest of the day Sr Chetana A C addressed the students as flowers in the garden of Mount Carmel. “Apostolic Congregation was founded on this day in 1868 and we celebrate this day in a very special manner,” she said.

She emphasised students on practicing the virtues that were upheld by Mother Mary. She wished a happy feast to all and prayed that Mother Mary intercedes for everyone.

The celebration ended on a happy note by wishing a happy feast to everyone and by distributing sweets to the children. This was followed by a staff get together to share the family spirit.
