Mangaluru: IdeaSphere - Ideation Camp 2023 held at SJEC

Mangaluru, Jul 17: SJEC Innovation Platform at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) - Mangaluru, in association with the department of mechanical engineering and SJEC AICTE IDEA Lab conducted an Ideation Camp from July 13-15.

The ideation camp was organized for a multidisciplinary batch of 84 students. Dr Nitin Kulkarni, former director of CTIE - KLE Tech Hubli and currently, the programme manager of InnoVenture and an Adjunct Faculty at the department of business administration at SJEC, was the key facilitator for the camp. Dr Kulkarni was supported by a team of Faculty from SJEC as co-facilitators and mentors.

The Ideation Camp focused on four verticals: 1) Healthcare 2) Increasing the income of Small Scale Farmers 3) Cyber security for Women and Children in India and 4) Solid Waste Management. Students worked in teams of five for 2.5 days as Dr Kulkarni and Team led them through a proven template based approach of Ideation. Dr Madhukar S M, ceo of Innaumation Medical Devices Pvt Ltd, Pradeep Raj, operations manager at CEOL Incubation Center - Mangaluru, and Jishnu Mulachan, technical director and co-Founder of Zilliot Technologies Pvt Ltd, were the members of the Jury that assessed the business pitch developed by the student teams.

The event was a part of the coordinated series of activities organized by InnoVenture to improve the culture of innovation on campus and problem solving skills of the students. Winners of the workshop were awarded with attractive prizes during the valedictory programme held on July 15.
