Mangaluru, Jul 17: The investiture ceremony of St Agnes CBSE School for the academic year 2023-2024 was held with great vigour and enthusiasm on July 12 at Mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Hall.
The school band along with guides and cabinet members with illuminating lights resplendently escorted the dignitaries of the day to the hall. The programme was presided over by Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, the joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions. she was welcomed with the symbolic representation of light and fruits. Sr Maria Sarika AC, the principal, Sr Edna Furtado AC, the administrator, Sr M Letitia AC ,the coordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School, Sr Lenita Lobo AC, the vice principal, Sr Sweedal Fernandes AC and Kumar Naik, the vice president of the PTA were also present.
The ceremony was initiated by invoking the blessings of God, with a mesmerizing prayer service on the theme rainbow with each colour acronym specifying the values of a good leader. The principal Sr Maria Sarika AC introduced Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, and welcomed the gathering. She also motivated the leaders to be humble and thoughtful in discharging their duties.During this occasion the PTA members accorded a genial welcome to Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC. The welcome address was followed by a spectacular welcome dance.
A motivational skit on ‘The Golden Gate of Values’ was performed by the students highlighting the importance of values in life.
The student council members were then escorted to the dais for the oath taking ceremony. The leaders and the deputy leaders promised to discharge their duties with integrity, honesty and excellence in the presence of Alma mater. The squad flags were handed over to the squad leaders. The principal and the dignitaries honoured the cabinet members with the sash and pinned badges to the ministers. The principal administered the oath ceremony to the newly elected office bearers. Each leader was given a lamp, as it is regarded as a symbol of probity and harmony.'
The head girl Angelina thanked the principal, vice principal and the faculty members for their constant support and guidance. She also thanked the students for electing her as the leader . She promised to fulfil her duties in accordance with the vision and mission of the school.
Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, the president of the programme, congratulated the cabinet members and appreciated the grace of each leader who promised to discharge their duties with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Sanidya Shetty and Leana Rego compered the event. Calista Britto proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the school Anthem.
