Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates patron's feast with great enthusiasm

Mangaluru, Jul 17: Carmel School, Mangaluru celebrated the feast of Mary, Mother of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the school and 155th foundation day of the Apostolic Carmel on July 15 with great enthusiasm.

The celebration began with the meaningful thanksgiving holy eucharist offered by Fr Rudolph Pinto OCD. In his homily, he highlighted the students about the virtues of Mother Mary and history of Mount Carmel. The Carmel Blossom led the liturgy. Venerable Mother Veronica, foundress of the Apostolic Carmel was also fondly remembered.

 

The celebration was held on July 15 in the school auditorium. Br John Marshal, a lay solitary with a private vow of celibacy, Goa was the chief guest. 

The programme began with an emphasis on the attributes of Carmel and assimilation on a regular basis. The dignitaries paid their reverence to our Mother Mary with flowers.

A meaningful prayer service enlightened the student fraternity with the virtues of Mother Mary fostering a deeper connection with Our Lady of Mount Carmel and enhanced their spiritual growth.

The celebration strengthened our faith, devotion, and reinforced the values that Our Lady of Mount Carmel represents.

The skit 'The Healing Light' showcased present day scenario of students, their carefree lives, the result of getting into unfavorable habits and the miracle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in instilling the love and respect  towards their elders as well as safeguarding their physical health captivated the student body and instilled a deep sense of devotion and spirituality.

The students of Carmel Blossom showed their respect and love towards Venerable Mother Veronica through their soulful song. 

Br John Marshal, in his address, took the audience to the rich heritage of Carmel. The journey of Carmelites was beautifully articulated by the chief guest. 

Sr Lilly Pushpa, the principal wished a joyous and prosperous feast for the faculties, students and their families. 

The sudents of grades X A and C contributed their time, efforts, and talents to make this event a resounding success. Their unwavering dedication and active participation ensured that the celebration was spiritually uplifting and left an everlasting impact on the entire student fraternity.

The programme was compered by Riyanna  and Khyati. Sonia welcomed the gathering and Jahnavi expressed the words of gratitude.
