Mangaluru, Jul 16: The feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of our composite college, was celebrated on July 15 with great devotion. The students of II PU Science hosted the programme in honour of Mother Mary.
Benita Rita Madtha, the former teacher of Ladyhill Victoria Kannada Higher Primary School was the guest for the day. Along with the guest, principal Sr.Ujvala A C, staff and students witnessed the occasion.
The celebration began with a solemn prayer service that highlighted the meaning of grace towards growth in divine intimacy. Maliha welcomed the gathering. The audiences were welcomed with a graceful dance in praise of Mother Mary. The importance of Brown Scapular was enacted in the skit with the message that whoever wears this will be protected from all dangers and harm.
The significance of the feast was presented by the students depicting the virtues of Mother Mary. A small quiz based on the Carmel feast was held for the audiences and the winners were awarded. A blessing song was also sung by the students.
Chief guest Benita Rita Madtha addressed the gathering and congratulated the students for their spectacular performance. She gave a brief insight about the importance of the day.
Fathima Swaliha proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the college anthem. Khadeeja Suhana and Fathima Ifha were the anchors for the event.
