Bengaluru, Jul 16: The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's office has clarified that the Congress government has not implemented any rule prohibiting mid-day workers, popularly known as Bisiyoota Karyakartas, from wearing bangles while preparing mid-day meals.
The Chief Minister's media team has clarified that it is the directive of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government under its Pradhan Mantri Poshan scheme, which mandates that "nail polish or artificial nails should not be worn because they can become foreign bodies and compromise food safety. No watches, rings, jewelry, and bangles should be worn during cooking, serving, and distribution, where there is a risk of contamination."
The Chief Minister's office stated that malicious and false news propaganda is being circulated, claiming that the State Government has banned Bisiyoota workers from wearing bangles, which is a Hindu custom.
