Mangalore, Jul 28: On the backdrop of an insect being found in a Nandini milk packet, members of district unit of Tulunada rakshana vedike staged a protest in front of the District Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday July 26 urging the concerned people to maintain the quality of the milk.

Speaking on the occasion, president of the Vedike Yogish Shetty said that the quality of Nandini milk has been degrading by the day. The dairy has also not been maintaining hygiene during the production process. Recently the government made a proposal to hike the milk price, he said.

Shetty also warned that protest will be held in front of the Kulshekar Milk Factory if some action is not taken. One of the members of the vedike found an insect in a milk packet purchased by them.

Muneer Mukkaccheri, Jyothika Jain, J Ibrahim, Shreekanth Salian, Dinesh P Pandeshwar among others were present.

Well said, Mr. BVR JD of Udupi, well said indeed. I presume you are mister.

Regarding Mr. Padiyati's proposal that KMF employ the Vedike personnel for quality control, I must say that prima facie it appears a solution. But with a proposal by the govt to hike the price of milk, this may be a non-starter since adding to the staff will only lead to a further hike in price. My own humble proposal is that the dairy (sometimes called diary, he he he) employ a sieve to leave out insects from the packets. This may be a more cost effective solution besides leaving the Vedike free to champion other deserving local causes. e.g. Fake advertisements in newspapers which aim to take away money from more Helmets (see http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=110630).

Also Mr. Ganapathy, for Nandini milk you should go to Mangalore. From your vantage point, you might best be served by frozen yogurt.

My decision not to buy Nandini's milk has been vindicated by this important discovery by the Vedike. Also Nandini's milk is not available here.

We should be very grateful to this Vedike for their work in highlighting this social blight. Is there a scheme for an international wing so people outside native place can join?

Lastly, kudos to the members, especially the gentelmen standing leftmost in the last picture. He has dyed his hair to match the Vedike's flag!!! Bless.

Red card from Vedike to Nandini!

How convenient that insect was found in milk packet by member of vedike itself. we should thank them for inspecting the packets. in fact, why not hire them for quality control at the dairy since they are such experts with their eyes?

Are we sure that they are not protesting that only one member's packet had insect and not all of their's? customer says waiter, there is fly in my soup. waiter replies be quiet or everybody will want one! what a situation!!
