Mangaluru, Jul 10: The Bharathiya Jain Milan Mangaluru region and Jain community organized a silent protest march from Clock tower to the DC office on Monday, July 10, to condemn the murder of Jain pontiff Sri Acharya Kamakumara Nandi in Belgavi.
During the event, Pushparaj Jain stated, "We condemn the murder of Jain pontiff Sri Acharya Kamakumara Nandi. The accused should not be released and should be hanged for this heinous crime. They should not be protected, and action must be taken against them to send a strong message."
Sri Charutheertha Bhattaraka Swamiji of Jain Math Moodabidiri emphasized, "The case should be thoroughly investigated without bias to uncover the conspiracy behind the murder. Measures must be taken to provide protection to Jain pontiffs and prevent such incidents."
The protestors submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner Mullai Mugilan.
The event was attended by Suresh Ballal, Sudharshan Jain, Rathnakar Jain, Jagathpal Jain, Mahaveer Prasad, Subhash Chandra Jain, Shwetha Jain, Sudesh Jain, and others.
