Moodubidri: ‘Namma Bedra’ Weekly Celebrates First Anniversary

Moodubidri, Jul 27:
‘Namma Bedra’ weekly published by editor Ashraf Valpady celebrated its first anniversary at Paradise Hall of Nishmitha Tower here on Monday July 25.
 
Inaugurating the programme Esha Vittaladas Swamiji of Kemar Mutt in his benedictory speech said that ‘achievement should be mantra of human life’. He lamented that in recent years there has been a lack of true description of the fact published in newspapers which has caused reduction in the readers statistics. He stressed on the media the need to function by being away from corruption.



 

Entrepreneur Mohammed Ali Abbas said that the effect of media reports have come down off late. He added that the buying and reading of newspapershas also decreased. “A journalist should not sit in a air conditioned room and write about problems of the society, instead journalists should be active and realistic while writing”, he said.
 
Moodubidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain presided over the function. Entrepreneur Felix D’Souza inaugurated the website of ‘Namma Bedra’ weekly newspaper. Edapadavu Shree Bhoothanatheshwara temple management committee head Vijayanath Vittal Shetty released the special edition of Namma Bedra.
 
Moodubidri working journalists’ president Beluvai Sitaram Acharya, Municipal corporation president Rathnakar Devadiga, entrepreneur K Shreepathi Bhat, BJP leader K P Jagadeesh Adhikari were the chief guests of the occasion.
 
After a short stage programme famous comedian Richard Louis and Mysore Anand enthralled the gathering with their performance.
