Udupi, Jul 2: Trinity Central School, Perampalli, organized 'Kesard Onji Dina,' a fun-filled day at the sludgy fields near Trinity Central School on July 2.

Ragupathi Bhat, former MLA of Udupi, highlighted the importance of agriculture and praised the school for organizing such an event. He said, "This is the first time a school has organized an event like this. I have been with them since the inception of the school. I appreciate the teachers and management for providing quality education. Modern kids are not aware of the significance of agricultural activities, so it is essential to arrange field programs like the fun day at the sludgy field. Getting ourselves sludgy is like a medicinal mud bath for our bodies. I urge schools and colleges to teach students about agriculture."

S Harikrishna Shivattaya, an agriculturist, emphasized that getting into the field is not disgusting but good for health. He praised Trinity School for organizing the event and expressed the need to teach students about agriculture and kitchen-related activities.

Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, principal of Trinity Central School, Perampalli, explained that the purpose of the event was to educate children about agricultural activities. He emphasized that by teaching the importance of agriculture to children, we can ensure that the traditions followed by our elders continue in the future. He expressed gratitude to all those who supported and helped in organizing the event.

Various sports events were organized, including breaking pots, parents carrying their children, kambala race, sludge on the body, treasure hunt, volleyball, throwball, musical chairs, tug of war for men and women, parents carrying their children on their backs and running, bomb in the city, 100-meter race, chair race, soge race, backward walking, couple race, and palm leaf weaving.

The program was inaugurated by Ragupathi Bhat, who was felicitated on the occasion. The program began with a prayer song rendered by the school's teachers' choir group. Sharon D'Souza welcomed the gathering, and a prize distribution ceremony was held at the end to honor all the winners.

Fr Ravi Rajesh Serrao, vice principal of Trinity Central School, Perampalli, Krishna Shridaran, president of the Parents Teachers Association, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students, and others were present at the event.
