Mangaluru: Vanamahostava Day was organized at Ladyhill Victoria High School

Mangaluru, Jul 1: The annual vanamahostava day was organized by the Ladyhill Victoria High School on July 1. The day is celebrated as a part of “Go Green” initiative of the school.

The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by a welcome dance. Teacher Elizabeth welcomed the chief guest Vivek Raj, a celebrated entrepreneur, founder of Panama Corportation Ltd based in U.S.A. He also chairs the board of elite multinational conglomerate. His love for environment is evident in the company’s endeavors. He was given a floral welcome by the school head girl Sachi Pandit. Mahesh, parent of our student who accompanied Vivek Raj was given a floral welcome by assistant school head girl Saloni.

The top scorers of the academic year 2022-23 of both English and Kannada Medium were felicitated along with their parents by the chief guest Vivek Raj who honoured them with cash prize. Vaishnavi Puthran (618/625), Sathvi Shetty (618/625), Aarlyn(616/625), Suchithra (603/625) and Rashmitha (583/625) were the top scorers.

This was followed by planting of the sapling by the chief guest.

The significance of the day was highlighted by Monish and Avani. They emphasized on the need to plant more trees.
The chief guest addressed the gathering by enlightening the students on the need to plant more trees. He also spoke about the hardships he endured during childhood as he had to discontinue his studies after class 10th due to poverty. But because of his hardwork, creative thinking and perseverance he was able to build a multinational company like Panama Corporation Ltd. He encouraged the students to work hard and persevere in their goals. He sponsored towards the uniform of 8th Standard Kannada Medium students.

The programme concluded with the vote thanks rendered by Teacher Angela. Ahana compered the programme.
