Mangaluru, Jun 30: It seems lady luck is smiling on Roopesh Shetty, creator of Tulu movie Circus, which is displayed to full houses in more than 100 movie theatres throughout the country.

Roopesh Shetty has found success in getting the same share of profit to Tulu cinemas as that of Kannada in Bharat Cinemas multiplexes.

The share of income that was given to Tulu movies after the first week of show in Bharat Cinemas multiplexes was much less compared to Kannada movies. This was causing huge losses to Tulu movie producers. Director and actor Roopesh Shetty spoke to CEO of Bharat Cinemas Balakrishna Shetty and appealed to give Tulu cinemas the same share of profits like Kannada movies. Balakrishna Shetty has agreed to the request put forth by Roopesh on certain conditions. This has created a ray of hope in other movie producers of Coastalwood. Now the Tulu film industry is appealing other mall administrations also to share the profits in similar manner.

In multiplexes and single theatres, Kannada and other language movies had a different type of income sharing method while for Tulu movies it was less.

In the first week, the sharing of income is done at 50:50 ratio. However, in the following weeks the share of producers gets lesser and lesser. That too for Tulu movie producers very less share in income is given. Tulu movie industry was demanding to set this discrimination right from a long time. Now Bharat Cinemas has agreed for the deal on certain conditions. Coastalwood expects that other multiplexes will also follow suit.
