Mangalore, Jul 23: The PFI activists and other like-minded organizations staged a protest infront of DC‘s office on Friday July 22 condemning the BJP’s Government’s nature of spreading corruption and attempting to divide people through provocative statements.
A memorandum, addressed to Governor H R Bhardwaj, was also submitted to deputy commissioner on the occasion.
Addressing protesters, Fr William Martis, President, Udupi chapter of NCHRO said that Karnataka Government is most corrupt and the leaders are looting the wealth of our state.
The prime reason for the protest is the controversial statements made by the home minister R Ashok and primary and higher education minister Vishweshara Hegde Kageri over banning KFD and introducing Bhagavad Gita in Schools.
Mohammed Riyaz, PFI leader, challenged the Government to ban the organization and said that it was nothing but cheap politics played by the government which is sure to lose the next elections. Pattabhirama Somayaji questioned that if government allowed the organization such as RSS which was involved in the Killing of Mahatma Gandhi to be active, how could it ban an organization based on mere an accusation.
Leaders like Abdul Wahid Sheik, Mohammad Sharif and Akbar Ali among others were present during the protest.
