Mumbai, Jun 22: Kannada Sangha Dombivli released Nivalisibitta Koli and Local train, two books written by Anita P Thakode at Manjunath auditorium, Dombivli east on June 18. Karnataka sangha Dombivli president Diwaker Shetty Indrali presided over the programme. He said that Kannada should be nurtured. It should not be like stagnant water but should flow like a river. Anita Thakode is the pride of Dombivli, he said.
Sukumar Shetty, president of the sangha gave a keynote address.
Srinivas Jokatte, assistant editor of Karnataka Malla daily newspaper released the book ‘Nivalisibitta Koli’. Story writer Vasanth Kalakoti released a collection of column writings titled ‘Local train’.
Author Anita P Thakode thanked for the cooperation of associations that encouraged her writings. She said that she received inspiration from Karnataka Sangha Dombivli for her writings since the beginning.
Karnataka Sangha Dombivli felicitated Anita P Thakode couple with shawl, flower bouquet and memento. The guests of honour present on the occasion were honoured. Library division secretary Vasanth Suvarna compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks. Well known authors of Mumbai, artists, office bearers of various associations, students of Mumbai university and residents of Dombivli were present.
