Bantwal, Jul 22: The building of an Anganwady lies in a deplorable condition and its tiles have been blown away from the roof a few days ago due to the recent rains. Owing to the state of the building, the children attending classes have come down to two children. A parent of a child expressed safety concerns due to the state of the building.
“Despite the department officers being informed of the deplorable condition of building, no actions are being taken so far,” said the Anganwady assistant.
The building was constructed for the local women’s club in 1979, which was later converted into a Anganawady, a playschool. The building that has not seen repairs now lies in a deplorable condition. If the building is allowed to lie in the same state, the day is not very far when it is likely to be closed down permanently. The women and child welfare department officers are urged to restore the building at the earliest.
