Beltangady: Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar organizes 'Quiz Contest-2023'

Beltangady, Jun 20: The department of MCom, Sacred Heart College Madanthyar organized 'Quiz Contest-2023', an intercollegiate quiz competition for commerce and management students on June 19 at the college auditorium. It was an exciting and intellectually stimulating event, bringing together participants from various colleges in the region. The competition aimed to test the participants' knowledge, quick thinking abilities, and their ability to work collaboratively as a team.

Dr Joseph N M, principal of the college was presided over the inaugural ceremony of the quiz competition. He thanked the department for organizing such a purposeful programme to the participants and also explained the various opportunities which are available in the campus. Mohammed Thausif, proud alumnus as well as assistant professorof St Aloysius College and Vilasini Rai, proud alumna as well as senior data process executive of Cognizant Technology were the chief guests. They shared their opinions and remembered their college days.  Rashmi & team invoked god's blessings through a prayer song. Reena Jennifer welcomed the gathering. Sameeksha compered the ceremony. Rishal Miranda proposed a vote of thanks.

The quiz competition followed a structured format, consisting of multiple rounds designed to challenge the participants across different subject areas. The questions were presented orally to the teams, and they were given a limited amount of time to provide their answers.

A total of 18 teams participated in the quiz competition. Each team comprised 3 members who represented their respective colleges. The teams were given unique identification numbers for easy identification and scoring purposes. The top-scoring teams from the previous rounds competed head-to-head in a challenging final round. This round involved complex questions and required participants to think critically under pressure. Robin Joseph Sera was the quiz master of the final round.

The teams were awarded points based on the accuracy and speed of their answers in each round. The scores were tallied throughout the competition, and the team with the highest overall score was declared the winner. Runners-up teams were also acknowledged and awarded cash prizes as well as certificates of participation.

The quiz competition was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and intellectual abilities. The event not only fostered healthy competition but also encouraged teamwork and camaraderie among participants. The participants displayed remarkable expertise and enthusiasm, making the quiz competition a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
