Mangaluru, Jun 20: Carmel School observed World Day against Child Labour to raise awareness and activism to prevent child labour by students of grade 9c under the leadership of Lidwin D'Souza.
The students whispered a prayer for protection and safety of all innocent souls as well as for an end to child labour and exploitation. The talented actors of the school spun out heart-touching stories, taking up the roles of children forced to work and beautifully elucidated that causes and prevention of child labour, stats regarding world day against child labour and facts concerning child labour in India through skits.
While some of the wonderful dancers demonstrated against child labour using their moves and some unique raps were also created as a form of protest against this atrocity against children and also to create awareness.
Dr Sr Prem D'Souza - administrator in her thought-provoking address accentuated on the four words given by Walt Disney that if practiced one would have the opportunity of being a wise person i.e -THINK- Think about the values and principles that one is going to live by. The second word, BELIEVE - Believe in oneself and work at attainable goals in life, DREAM - Dream about something that one wants to be, based on the belief in oneself, which is based on the thinking that one has done about the values and the principles that one is going to live by, DARE - Dare to make one’s dream a reality, based on values and goals.
