Mangaluru, Jun 18: The North station police have arrested four youths on charges of attempting to murder another youth near a public area opposite the St Aloysius College compound in Bavutagudda.
The accused who were apprehended by the police include Mohammed Tufail (20) from Mallikatte, Mohammed Afrid (19) from Neeru Marga, Maqsood Saag (21) from Neeru Marga, and Abdul Sattar (19) from Bolara.
According to the complaint filed by Neelesh, a friend of the victim Nidish, the duo was invited by Priya Pinto, a resident of Kinnigoli Elinje, who contacted them through Instagram to meet at the public area opposite St Aloysius College on Light House hill road in the city.
When Nidish and Neelesh arrived at the location, Priya and her accomplices Tufail, Afrid, Saag, and Sattar, who arrived in an Alto Car, instigated a fight with Nidish and his friends. They verbally abused Nidish and intentionally stabbed him on the left side of his chest with the intention to cause harm.
The operation to apprehend the accused involved the efforts of SI Manjula, Nagaraj, Faizunnisa, Ramanaik, as well as personnel Damodar, Madan, Tipparedyappa, Abhishek, Sagar, Sunil, Madhu, Guru, Ameen Saab, and driver Umesh.
