Udupi, Jun 12: St Mary’s play school, a part of St Mary’s English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpady was inaugurated on June 12 by the toddlers of the first batch of students.
Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent and parish priest Mother of Sorrows church blessed the school premise and conducted the prayer service.
Speaking on the occasion Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent said, “children will be taken care and will be made to study what they require for their better future. When children do mischievous things people will shout at them but Jesus said let them be like that because their children of god, god will like them and will bless them. Taking care of students in play school is a big risk so I wish all the very best to the in-charge and the teachers. It is harder to parents to leave their children in the beginning so I will place a request to arrange a separate room for parents to wait there. I pray that the children learn well and trained well”.
In his introductory note Fr Jhonson Sequeira, principal said, “ with the beginning of St. Mary’s play school, the school turned into full fledged CBSE School. Temporary arrangement for play school is made for now, within a year a separate building will be constructed for kinder garden section. The first batch contains as many as 41 students. St. Mary’s believe in providing best to the students. Nazia Banu and Renita are the first two teachers of play school. Play learn and grow together is the philosophy of our play school. Three class rooms are arranged for play school, two class rooms for regular teaching and one class room to play and take rest. The class rooms are esthetically painted, colorful paintings of cartoon, alphabets, and the walls of classroom is painted by Jagadish Acharya, drawing instructor of the school, with the help of other people”.
Fr Jhonson Sequeira, principal of St Mary’s English Medium School welcomed the gathering. Rita Quadros, vice principal, Rajashree Nayak, coordinator, Maxim D’Souza, vice president Paris pastorl committee were present.
