Puttur, Jun 4: Post Graduate Department of Social Work, Post Graduate Studies and Research Center St Philomena College Puttur, gram panchayat Savanur, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Scheme Savanur Zone in collaboration with A J Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru conducted a free health checkup and dental checkup camp at DKZP upgraded higher primary school on June 4.
Prof Ganesh Bhat, vice principal of St Philomena College, Puttur inaugurated the programme and wished for the success of the programme by urging the residents of this rural area to get the full benefit of the camp.
Chief guest Savanur K Seetharama Rai said, “Programmes of public concern should be organized more often at the rural level to increase awareness among the people. The efforts of the Social Work students are worth appreciation. When such health awareness programs are conducted free of charge, people should take advantage of the same and feel more conscious about health. A.J.hospital's support for further programmes always will help you."
A J Medical team representative medical social worker Rajesh K V gave details of the health services available in the camp. Gram panchayat president Rajeevi V Shetty said that their cooperation will always be there for the organization of such programmes and let the people take advantage of this program and make the programme a success. A, development officer (in-charge) village panchayat Savanur, Balakrishna K headmaster, DKZP upgraded Higher Primary School Savanur, were present.
More than hundred people benefited from this camp. Srimani, coordinator of Post Graduate Department of Social Work, welcomed. Vaishnavi, student of social work department proposed vote of thanks and Lathamani M compered.
