Mangaluru, Jun 5: Manish Shetty Siddakatte emerged the winner of ‘Comedy Raje 2’ Tulu stand-up comedy show presented by Daijiworld TV 24x7, powered by Leksa Lightings Technologies Pvt Ltd and Lions Club Ashoknagar.
The grand finale was held at Leksa Lighting Technologies Pvt. Ltd here at Moodbidri Siddakatte on May 31.
Manish Shetty Siddakatte was crowned the title and awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000. While Thanush Vamanjoor from Mangaluru won the first runner up, Shashiraj Achar from Udupi won the second runner-up prize. Vinyas Vamanjoor and Pramod Krishnapura bagged the fourth and fifth place respectively.

Ltd Ronald D’Souza, president, Lions Club, Ashoknagar, Victor Moras, Managing Director Daijiworld Media Ltd Walter Nandalike, Marketing head Daijiworld Media Ltd Praveen Tauro, HR director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd Ronald Nazareth, judge of the show Comedy Raje 2 RJ Arpith Indravadan, special judge Vismaya Vinayak and host of the show C K Prashanth were present.
“I got recognised after getting selected in this show. I thank Daijiworld Television and the entire team for this opportunity. This stage has taught me many unique things which are useful in stand-up comedy," said Manish Shetty after receiving the title.
Wishing the finalists and winners, managing director of Daijiworld Media Network Private Limited Walter Nandalike said, "Stand-up comedy is a new thing in the Tulu entertainment world. The show became one of the most popular comedy shows in Coastal Karnataka and the people have accepted it wholeheartedly. Today, we have got a new winner of the show. At the same time we also got many new talents. There are many talents in Coastal Karnataka. I would like to see many female talents in the coming seasons. I thank RJ Arpith and our sponsors Leksa Lightings Technologies Pvt Ltd and Lions Club Ashoknagar for their generosity towards arts and talents."
As many as 150 contestants took part in the auditions. Four rounds were held during the show which included single round, double dhamaka round, triangular round and the props round in which 10 members with the perfect comedy timing were selected for the semi-final round. After five months of performance in the stand-up comedy reality show ‘Comedy Raje 2’, five contestants were selected for the finals.
Arpith Indravardhan of Mad in Kudla fame was the judge for the ‘Comedy Raje 2’ stand-up comedy reality show, while actor Prashanth C K is the brainchild of the show and was seen playing different characters throughout the reality show.
The technical team of ‘Comedy Raje 2’ was recognised and honoured during the event.
