Mangaluru, Jun 5: The activists of Bajrang Dal (BD) waylaid a vehicle that was transporting cattle illegally and rescued five cattle that were transported in an inhumane manner at Bhandarabailu near Kuthar n Monday June 5.
The vehicle bearing a Kerala state registration number, was going through Mudipu, Konaje and Madaka route carrying five cattle. It stopped near the steep road of Bhandarabailu road. The BD workers who were nearby tried to help the driver of the vehicle by pushing it. Plastic trays of fish were kept blocked on the backside of the vehicle. The BD workers heard some sound from inside the vehicle. When they checked, they saw five cattle tied in an inhumane manner.
Both the driver and another person in the vehicle escaped from the spot. Two escort bikers also deserted their bikes and escaped.
One calf ran away. Another calf, two bulls and one cow were handed over to Ullal police station by BD workers.
