Mangaluru, Jun 4: Dr Mahabaleshwara M S Abhinandana Samiti organised a public programme to felicitate the retired MD and CEO of Karnataka Bank at Sharada Vidyalaya in Kodiyalbail here on Sunday, June 4.
Sharavu Raghavendra Shastri symbolically inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, administrator of Shri Kshetra Sharavu, Sharavu Raghavendra Shastri said, "Mahabaleshwara M S throughout his service worked for the welfare of society. He has contributed to the society's noble cause through donations."
He also wished Mahabaleshwara to lead a peaceful and a prosperous retired life.
Mahabaleshwara and his wife Annapoorna M were felicitated by chancellor of Srinivas University Dr C A Ragavendra Rao.
Dr C A Raghavendra Rao lauded Mahabaleshwara's achievement and performance in the banking sector.
“It is not so easy to bring up an institution. But, the dedication of Mahabaleshwara took him to great heights. Leadership quality of Mahabaleshwara is his strength,” he said.
President of Shakti Group of Education Dr K C Nayak and others spoke on the occasion.
After being felicitated, Mahabaleshwara K S said, "Great people have gathered here and have blessed me in this programme. If we have achieved something, it is because of the blessings of the customers and senior leaders who have guided us. We put immense effort to uphold the tradition of the bank without any black mark."
He also thanked the committee for honouring him and his wife in the programme.
“I served Karnataka Bank for 39 years, out of which I have served as MD and CEO of the bank for six years. I took this profession as my passion and also I could give time for my work. We worked immensely hard to bring transformation in the bank in the second decade. With blessings of God, support of customers and immense efforts of the staff and cooperation from the board of directors our dream has come true,” he added.
“Karnataka Bank is not only for commercial purposes but it is also a socio, cultural and economic movement. Identifying the good work and supporting it is the duty of our bank and this is also the tradition of our bank,” he added.
“Along with making profit and providing good service, contributing to the welfare of the society is our priority. It is not my words but it is enshrined in the Constitution of the bank,” Mahabaleshwara said.
President of Sharada Group of Institution Dr M B Puranik presented the felicitation speech.
