Mangaluru, May 31: With positive thoughts and belief in the magic of new beginning, the students of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School stepped into the campus.
As they entered the premises the school band team played the music resounding 143 years glory of the institution. The entire team of staff, students along with the enthusiastic parents gathered in the school quadrangle for the inaugural assembly.
The assistant headmaster, Liya D'Souza welcomed each one with a beautiful introduction for the new academic year. Meaningful prayer service was conducted by the teachers which included lighting of the lamp by student, parent and teacher representatives. Headmistress Jositta Noronha addressed the gathering. She expressed her happiness seeing children back in the campus which was otherwise like a garden with no flowers.
The newly joined students were welcomed with big round of applause. The assembly concluded with the national anthem. The school band continued to play as the students headed to their respective class rooms. Sweets were distributed to all. In all, festive atmosphere was experienced in the portals of the primary school.
