Mangaluru: No water supply for two days from 6 am on Jun 2

Mangaluru, May 31: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has informed that there will be no water supply in some areas for two days from June 2 to 4.

A press release from the MCC stated that water supply in some places in the city will be suspended from 6 am on June 2 to 6 am on June 4 due to repairs of 1,000 mm diameter pipe from Thumbe – Bendorewell – Panamboor and re-joining of 900 mm diameter pipe at Kottara Chowki.

The affected places will be Bendorewell, low level areas of PVS, Ladyhill, Bunder, Bejai, Suterpet, Maryhill, Pachanady, Ashoknagar, Derebail, Kodialbail, Kadri, Naguri, Surathkal, Katipalla, Kulur, Jalligudde, part of Kodikal, Kana, Bala, Kulai, Mukka, Panambur and other places.

    Smart city down the drain. why doesn't the civic body think of rain water harvesting. should solve the problem a bit, till then they should work on a concrete plan. Mangalore till a few years back, received the second highest rainfall in the country. Its a pity we need to ration water in the fag end of the summer, espwecially with so many senior citizens staying by themselves its a trouble.

    I think it is a created problem. I heard that, ( don't know it's true or falls) that because of MRPL constructed a dam near by our Tumbe dam, they block the water to tumbe dam. If it is true I think it is better to shut MRPL for 2 months every year, and our MCC can find out.

    I don't understand why we talk about water issue, we are smart people we should only talk about hijab, halaal, beef, tippu type of issues.
