Udupi, May 31: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence, Deemed to be University and Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC), a leading non-profit cybersecurity organisation, has collaborated to establish a Cyberange Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (MAHE-ISAC CoE) for IoT/ SCADA and IT security. The COE has Cyber Physical System (CPS) at the core, while digital simulation platforms are provided in multilevel scenarios.
A three-day 'Train the Trainer' programme was conducted from May 22-24 at MAHE-ISAC CoE for Cybersecurity, MIT, MAHE.
The training programme was inaugurated by (Cdr) Dr Anil Rana, director, MIT, Manipal, Rajashekar P, founder director, ISAC and group captain Ananda Naidu, director, ISAC. All the dignitaries stressed the importance of cybersecurity in protecting the critical data of organisations and individuals. They emphasised the role of MAHE-ISAC CoE for Cybersecurity in capacity building and meeting the human resource requirement in the field.
Dr. Balachandra, professor, department of information and communication technology, MIT, Manipal and coordinator, MAHE-ISAC CoE for cybersecurity, welcomed the guests and participants. Dr Yashwanth N, assistant professor-sr scale, department of electronics and communication engineering, and co-coordinator, MAHE-ISAC CoE for cybersecurity, flawlessly managed, ensuring a seamless flow of the events and Akshay K C, asst professor-sr scale proposed the vote of thanks.
In the three-day training programme, participants gained knowledge on IOT/SCADA security, in terms of both theory and practice, through simulation. At the end of the training, participants were confident to create attack scenarios on different modules such as toll plaza, power station, water treatment plant, airport departure and arrival gates etc.
