Sullia/Betangady/Kundapur, May 28: A large number of devotees visited the main temples of coastal districts on the last weekend of the summer holidays.
Kukke Subramanya temple saw a huge queue of devotees right from the morning on Saturday. Long queues of vehicles were also seen on the highway. In the evening more devotees arrived. The car street of the Kukke Temple was filled with a sea of devotees.
Many devotees were seen visiting the main temples of Dharmasthala, Kokkada and Ujire of Dakshina Kannada district. Lodges at Dharmasthala were full. Thousands of devotees had darshan of Lord Manjunatha on Saturday. On Sunday and Monday also more devotees are expected to visit Dharmasthala.
More than 20,000 devotees visited the renowned Sri Mookambika Temple at Kollur. Vehicular movement got disrupted at roads leading to Kollur and near the temple due to a large number of vehicles that arrived from outstation districts and other states. Police and temple authorities had a tough time negotiating the huge number of devotees.
Numerous devotees paid a visit to Udupi Sri Krishna Temple and Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple also.
