Beltangady, Jul 15: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, (SKDRDP) with aid from the state government and Dakshina Kannada district administration, began an ‘agarbatti’ packing training programme on an experimental basis for the victims of Endosulfan, the deadly insecticide, at Endosulfan Rehabilitation Centre, here on Thursday July 15 under the direction of SKDRDP chief executive officer Dr L H Manjunath.
SKDRDP will provide the necessary items for agarbatti production during the week-long training programme to empower the rural residents to earn a little income. Packing tasks will be assigned to those with proven skills at the camp.
SKDRDP director Mahaveer Azri, Siri Gramodyog Samste (R) project officer Ashok Shetty, overseer Satish, and Endosulfan Rehabilitation Centre co-ordinator Avinash were present on the occasion.
