Mangaluru: Srinivas University conducts day-long industrial visit

Mangaluru, May 24: A batch of 4th semester students of Department of BBA- Port, Shipping Management and Logistics along with faculties Prof Meghashree and Prof Bhavya Krishna visited, KIOCL Limited, Panambur on May 15.

This visit was mainly focused on to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives the students exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught in their college classrooms. The students first visited the training division at KIOCL limited. Shivaraju, senior manager, training & safety division briefed about the company.

Then students visited the ore collecting centre, captive power plant, pallet plant, ball mill, filtration unit, vacuum filters and blast furnace. The final outcome of this industrial visit was information on the iron ore manufacturing process.

The outcome of the visit is to get practical knowledge and to give an insight into the way things work in a real-life scenario and discussion on the difficulties faced and possible solutions to overcome these difficulties was held.
