Puttur: Disrespect to GP President – Notice Serves on Employee

Puttur, Jul 14: On the basis of a complaint filed by the president of a gram panchayat, the office of the assistant commissioner has served show cause notice to Narayan Gowda, second grade assistant of Kadaba Nadakacheri.

It is learnt that Perabe gram panchayat president, Gangaratna Vasant, development officer of the panchayat, and some gram panchayat members, had visited Nadakacheri in Kadaba to invite the special tahsildar to be present at the Gram Sabha of the village. Later, Gangaratna had filed a written complaint with the assistant commissioner here, alleging that Narayan Gowda had behaved indecently with her during the visit, and insulted her.

Assistant commissioner, Dr Harish Kumar, has taken serious notice of this lapse on the part of a government employee. Through the notice, Gowda has been informed that the president of Perabe gram panchayat had complained of disrespectful behaviour on his part. The employee has also been told that several complaints had also been received in the past about his behaviour from members of the public. He has been given three days time to reply to the notice.

Te assistant commissioner, taking cognizance of this incident, has also warned the government employees to conduct themselves strictly as per various circulars and government policy, to ensure no complaints against them on this count crop up henceforth.
