Mangalore, Jul 14: At the aegis of Sanatana Organization and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Gurupurnima will be celebrated in 237 places across the country. It will be celebrated in order to revive the contemporary Indian tradition of bond between Guru and disciple, as the practice had gone oblivion due to modern education set-up, said Vinod Kamat, spokesperson of Sanatana Organization.
Addressing the media persons here on Wednesday July 13, Vinod Kamat cited the example of Lord Krishna and Arjuna in Mahabharata and other contemporary sages which emphasized the bond of Guru and disciples in achieving significant feats, he added.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Dakshina Kannada district co-ordinator Ramanand Gowda said that Gurupurnima celebrations will be held across the country on Friday July 15 from 4.00 pm to 7.30 pm.
Sanatana Organization city circulation assistant Sangeeta Prabhu, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti co-ordinator Ramesh Nayak were present at the press meet.
