Bengaluru, May 21: Chief minister Siddaramaiah has made another significant decision that effective from tomorrow, he will no longer accept garlands and shawls from the public, extending this policy to all settings.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah had informed the Bengaluru city police commissioner about the withdrawal of the zero traffic facility provided to his vehicle, citing the inconvenience caused to the public due to traffic congestion.
Additionally, he stated that he will no longer accept garlands and shawls from the public, including at his home, office, and public events. Instead, he encouraged people to express their love and respect by presenting books. The chief minister emphasized that he appreciates the continued support and admiration from the public.
This decision follows a similar stance taken by Basavaraja Bommai, who when newly appointed as chief minister, who also urged individuals to offer books instead of traditional offerings like necklaces and shawls.
