Udupi, Jul 13: The Karnataka state high court has ordered to re-investigate into the death of Karkala taluk Nakre village resident Alwyn Almeida who died after drowning at a pond in the year 2009, said his parents at a press conference held on Tuesday July 12.
On September 29, 2009 Alwyn along with his friends went for swimming in a pond and that same day he was drowned. Surprisingly his friends who had accompanied him did not inform about his death. Police registered the report death due to as unnatural circumstances.
But Alwyns parents suspect that this was not unnatural death, but murder. A complaint has been given to superintendent of police. But later during the investigation police safeguarded the accused and said that was not a murder. Though an appeal was submitted with the then home minister he also said police report was correct.
Later a writ application was submitted to high court. The court directed to conduct post-mortem of the dead body for the second time. As per that direction, post-mortem was conducted in the month of November last year. Based on the report of post-mortem, the high court on May 25 2011 ordered for the reinvestigation of the case, they said.
