Kundapur, May 15: A migrant worker killed his friend and co-worker in drunken stupor on Sunday night at Kattinamakki of Harkoor village of Aloor in the taluk.
Sangappa alias Sangamesha (42), native of Bagalkot is the deceased person and the accused has been identified Raja (36) who is of Mandya origin.
Nagendra Acharya, a resident of Kattinamakki is a contractor. Sangappa and Raja, who were residing at the Kundapura grounds were working with him since a month. They were involved in the house construction work of Dinesh Achari, a local resident.
On Saturday, both Sangappa and Raja had taken their weekly wages and had gone to Kundapura city. On Sunday, they returned to their shed and consumed liquor.
Argument ensued between the duo, who were sleeping together after consuming liquor in their shed. Arguments continued from evening till late in the night. In a fit of rage, Raja bludgeoned Sangappa's head with a stone who was sleeping on the foundation of the house. Sangappa died on the spot. Later Raja, approached Nagendra Acharya and surrendered to the police.
A case in this regard has been filed at Gangolli police station. DySP Belliyappa, Byndoor CI Santhosh A Kaikini, PSI Vinay, Jayashree and other personnel visited the spot. A team of forensic experts also visited the spot and collected evidence.
