Beltangady, May 15: Block Congress members protested by blocking the vehicle of circle inspector of Beltangady, who released accused BJP workers who attempted to assault an individual for questioning throwing of fire crackers to the verandah of his house.
The BJP workers threw firecrackers on the verandah of the house of Kamalaksha Gowda at Aniyoor of Neriya in the taluk while celebrating the victory of their party candidate in the recently held legislative assembly elections. When Kamalaksha Gowda questioned the attitude of BJP workers, they tried to assault him. Kamalaksha’s wife tried to prevent the BJP workers from assaulting her husband. She was pushed aside by the workers and she fell down.
Later, after filing the complaint, the accused were found in the office of circle inspector as they were released immediately by the police.
The block Congress members stopped the vehicle of circle inspector and protested against the attitude of the police in releasing the accused without filing any FIR.
Beltangady block Congress spokesperson Manohar Ilanthila, Jayavikrama Kallapu, Sudhir Devadiga, Suresh Suvarna, Preetham Shetty Ujire, Sudarshan Manjila, Preetham Gowda, Kamalaksha Gowda, Raghavendra Gowda and other eminent leaders were present.
