Mangaluru: Day-long first aid awareness training programme held at GFGC, Kavoor

Mangaluru, May 5: “Save Life and Be a Hero”, a day-long intercollege first aid awareness training was held at GFGC, Kavoor.

The training was held by Indian Redcross society, Youth Redcross Unit, Mangaluru University and Government First College, Kavoor jointly organized intercollege “One day First Aid Awareness Training” on May 5. Students from various colleges actively participated in the programme and appreciated the efforts taken by GFGC, Kavoor.

Rtn Shantharam Shetty inaugurating the programme said "Save life and become a hero". Youth Red Cross unit is giving a golden opportunity for students to serve the society. One hour is most precious hour to save life and expressed the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda.

Yathish Baikampady, managing committee member and state representative, IRCS KSB, Bengaluru addressing the students, focused on the leadership of students. Dr Sachidananda Rai managing committee member, chairman, first aid subcommittee, IRCS, D K appreciated the students for the service.

Sacheth Suvarna chairman, YRC subcommittee, Nithyashree YRC coordinator Yenopoya, held the responsibility of training the students on various first aid procedures to be taken on the spot of accidents. Dr Geetha M L in her presidential address praised the students and congratulated them for their selfless service.

Rekha S N, YRC coordinator gave a call for the students to join the service oriented committees to make our nation proud. Dr Santosh Pinto, coordinator, Student's Union, gave a floral welcome to all the guests. Krithika, second BCOM was the master of ceremony. Anusha second BA welcomed the gathering and Savitha, third BCOM proposed vote of thanks. Ashmitha second BA and team invoked the blessings of God.
