Mangaluru: 'HackToFuture’ 24-hour long Hackathon to be held on April 25 & 26 at SJEC

Mangaluru, Apr 24: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) in partnership with EG India Private Limited is hosting HackToFuture, a 24-hour long Hackathon - the first of its kind - in Mangalore. Aspiring young students in the STEM field collaborate to develop innovative solutions in the field of energy and sustainability, social innovation, healthcare, and finance. HackToFuture provides a platform for development as well as competition. The overnight event runs from the morning of April 25 to the afternoon of April 26, within the SJEC campus.

The Hackathon witnessed registrations of over 600 teams from 90+ colleges across India. An hour-long proctored online preliminary round was held from April 10 to 12 to shortlist Top 50 teams. This includes representation from prominent colleges like NITK - Surathkal, NMAMIT - Nitte, MIT - Manipal, Reva University Bangalore, CMRCET Hyderabad, SKCET Coimbatore and more.

The final round of the Hackathon on April 25 & 26 will feature over 150 students working on realizing their ideas in the spur of excitement and creativity. The teams have an opportunity to interact with Mikkel Bardram, CEO - EG, Tina Bodin, Global Head of HR - EG and Allan Bech, CTO - EG, along with Søren Tranberg Hansen, Consul - deputy head of Mission - Science and Technology, Consulate General of Denmark, Bangalore on the evening of April 25. The Hackathon would conclude with a valedictory programme scheduled for 11:30 AM on the second day featuring the leadership team from EG, along with delegates from SJEC, Mangaluru.
